ADOPTED

THALI

Our pretty girl, Thali, is a winsome beauty, who longs to connect with her special person. This past summer, she was surrendered by her owner to an overcrowded high kill animal control facility, where she quickly caught a cocktail of viruses swirling around the shelter, and became seriously ill. Thali's physical state upon intake was horribly emaciated. She was battling widespread mange, and was underweight, dehydrated, and suffering from rampant malnutrition. When a dog comes into a overcrowded Shelter environment in a poor state of health, it makes the inevitable upper respiratory infection much harder to resolve.

Despite her poor physical condition, Thali didn't seem too shaken by the shelter experience, and received positive behavior evaluations, before being rerouted to us for medical care and nutritional rehabilitation.

Just one year old, Thali is already enjoying Rescue hospitality. She appears to be primarily Labrador Retriever mixed with Carolina Dog, (a common Southern hunting breed) and yet she seems petite and delicate for that breed mix. She is a medium sized, tall, lean and muscular dog, weighingt 50 pounds. Thali has a shiny, short tan coat, with a sporadic black marbling pattern on her back, that is low maintenance and requires minimal grooming. She has beautiful deep brown eyes, with a pair of confused ears that are unsure of whether they want to stick up straight or flop over.

Thali is a mix of two extremely athletic and intelligent breeds, so the need for her to receive sufficient exercise and leadership training is paramount. She needs at least two to three brisk leash walks daily, as well as focused playtime and consistent obedience work. Thali is extremely eager to please, treat motived, and responds well to positive reinforcement training techniques. She has quite easily mastered her basic obedience routine, and is on her way to Canine Good Citizenship. Adopters should be able to continue her training and achieve certification quickly.

Thali has a gentle, friendly demeanor and genuinely loves human contact. She likes to be part of the action and close to her family. She would be a good choice for an active, dog savvy single or couple who can provide the exercise and attention that she needs. As an older puppy, Thali has a puppy vibe, and can be rambunctious at times. She has a vibrant personality, and while she loves to play, her style is not over-the-top rough-house. Thali would thrive in an active lifestyle that provides alot of action and attention, and in which she can shine as a superstar.

Thali enjoys the company of other dogs, and could easily join a multi-dog home, with proper introduction and training. She has a neutral temperament that could blend into just about any kind of pack. We have not checked her with cats. She has good house manners, and is housetrained and crate trained, although adopters should be prepared to troubleshoot post training accidents during her transition to a new routine. Thali is in excellent health, has been spayed.

Thali has been vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza and coronavirus), She has been boostered as needed. She has had the 4dx test: negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
