ADOPTED |
TEDDYLil' Teddy is a born athelete, a jumper, with legs that look like stilts! This little squirt came to us as a pint sized ball of confusion. He had been surrendered by owners who had clearly skirted their responsibilites in socializing and training their young puppy. Just 8 months old, Teddy found himself in an extremely precarious position, approaching euthanasia, after having acted up a bit in the harsh shelter environment. |
We think of ourselves as eternal optimists, or maybe we're just gamblers, but we gotta believe there's some hope for an 8 month old pup. And so we rolled the dice, and invited this little guy to join our garden party. Teddy was clearly scared to death when he arrived, but in a short time, he learned to trust, largely by watching our other foster dogs interact with us and each other. Teddy learned how to play, and quickly, he became that one in a million dog, who can a inspire joyful a play vibe in even the most cantankerous of dogs. Teddy has rediscovered his puppyhood! |
Teddy is now ready for his new home, and we think he'd be the ideal choice for an active single or couple, who have another young playful pup. Teddy is still shy with strangers, but once he connects with another playful dog, all his defenses melt into pure joie de vivre. |
Teddy is not suited to family life, and would be intimidated by raucous kid play, but under the right patient leadership, Teddy will continue to blossom. He has been a big hit in our puppy kindergarten, and has begun to grasp obedience basics. Adopters should continue Teddy on an obedience regimen, which will build his confidence and strengthen the bond to his people. Shelter staff have described Teddy as a Chihuahua mix, and judging from his extremely leggy and lean stature, we feel his better half is Italian Greyhound. He is a delicate, petite boy, weighing only 8 pounds. Teddy has a stunning blue-black coat, with white markings on his chest and dainty white socks. His look is extremely unique! |
Teddy has great house manners for a young pup. He is houstrained and crate trained, but adopters must have reasonable expectations of a recently neutered pup, and fine tune potty habits as Teddy adjusts to a new routine. Teddy is a small dog who travels well everywhere, and continued adventures with his special person will reinforce his training and socialization. This dog will become a superstar with the right patient and disciplined adopter. |
Teddy is in excellent health, and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza). He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed.
