ADOPTED |
RAMBOAbsolutely everyone who meets our Rambo stands back with dropped jaw and exclaims, "What a cool little dog!". Rambo strikes just the right cord of panache and personality. Rambo came to us from an over crowded Animal Control facility where he had spent some time after he was scooped up as a city stray. After considerable attempts were made to find his owners, nobody came to claim him. We were pleased to welcome him into our rescue program. |
Rambo has made friends along every step of the rescue process. He is a spirited little guy, who greets everyone with a hearty hello. All the vet and shelter staff gave him rave reviews, and he "aced" all of his behavior evaluations. We believe Rambo to be a mix of Chihuahua and Rat Terrier. He has the characteristic Chihuahua apple-shaped head with Rat Terrier height and tri color coat. He has striking black, white and tan markings, and a leggy, athletic build. Weighing only 10 pounds, Rambo has the presence of a much larger dog. |
Rambo has settled nicely into his foster home and has blended in with other dogs of all sizes and temperments. He is not a shy dog, and other dogs seem to like him. We have not tested Rambo with cats, but he seems genial enough to join a feline home. Rambo has a fairly high energy level, and would be the ideal companion for an active single, couple or family with older kids. He thrives on human attention and loves to be part of the action. He would be an ideal running or hiking buddy and loves to travel by car. |
Only one year old, Rambo is still a youngster and has loads of puppy energy. He has not had much obedience work, so adopters should start from square one with a basic course that includes both leadership and positive reinforcement techniques. He is extremely food and praise motivated, and will quickly become the class star. Rambo has good house manners and is housetrained, although adopters should forgive the occasional accident during Rambo's adjustment period. We have not noticed him to be much of a barker, and he seems to be past the puppy destructive phase. Rambo is nicely crate trained, and walks well on the leash. |
Rambo is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper and bordatella and influenza. He has been de-wormed and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
