PUTT PUTT

Sometimes we have to scratch our heads in amazement when we come across a dog like our Putt Putt in rescue. How could such a darling little boy, such a desirable breed mix, size and temperament, wind up homeless in a large city shelter. At the age of eight, this unlucky cutie could not catch a break!

After coming to the shelter as an owner surrender, Putt Putt had passed all his behavior evaluations, and earned himself a spot in the shelter adoption program. And then, he caught the kennel cough bug, and was booted from the adoption program into the sick ward. Putt Putt was greenlighted for euthanasia, but he charmed his shelter caretakers, and in turn, they reached out to us on his behalf. We were thrilled to have Putt Putt join us. Country life agrees with him.

We can't explain why Putt Putt's Owner gave up on him, but we know a dream dog when we see one. Shih Tzu lovers will swoon over this twelve pound cutie's charming demeanor. He appears to be Shih Tzu, although the shelter has suggested that there may be Poodle in the mix. Putt Putt has some bewitching, albeit perplexing, curls that cascade through his coat, and they make us suspect a tidbit of Toy Poodle in his DNA. He reminds us of a Miniature Cowardly Lion, traisping through OZ, his confidence bolstered by one too many Margaritas. Putt Putt is a very, very happy dog!

Putt Putt would be a great addition to any kind of home. He is outgoing and friendly, and greets everyone with a grin and puppy kisses. He could easily join an active family with older kids, who can handle him with a gentle touch, or he would be the ideal companion to an active single or couple. He would be a great choice for a first time dog owner or an apartment dweller. We'd trust him with other dogs and cats, as well. Putt Putt is a versatile and adaptable dog, with a spry, energetic vibe. He needs a couple of brisk daily leash walks, as well as lots of attention and focused playtime. Putt Putt is a joyous little soul, who lights up the room when he enters.

Putt Putt is in good health, and has been neutered. He has just had a full dental procedure, which cost him some sketchy teeth. His pre-op bloodwork was normal. He has been vaccinated for Rabies and DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza, and coronavirus). He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed.
