PEBBLESPebbles is quite the little scamp...and the little Diva! She came to us from the Manhattan Animal Care and Control, where she and her housemate were dumped by her owner, who cited "personal problems" as the reason for the surrender. Boy, doesn't that cover a wide scope of territory? |
| Pebbles seems no worse for the wear. She is an absolutely delightful little five year old imp, who is perfectly happy getting into everyone's business. Appearing to be a mix of miniature Eskie and Corgi, Pebbles has a unique structure and stance. Her legs are squat, her spine elongated, ala Corgi, whereas her coat, tail and ears are pure Eskie. She has a smattering of biscuit coloring that is simply beautiful. Our groomer noted that she does not have the Eskie double coat, so coat maintenance going forward should be easy, if adopters maintain appropriate diet. Her former owner had Pebbles shaved. Her coat is growing in nicely, if a bit scraggily, so she will need a few more groomings and a diet high in nutrients and Omega 3 and 6 to assist the restoration process. She should have her full coat back in another 3 months. |  |

Pebbles has a bubbly, outgoing personality, with an Alpha Diva edge to her. She is not about to put up with nonsense from other dogs...but, is generally well adjusted and playful. She can be the life of the party, and she is doing well in her multi-dog and cat foster home, except for a few minor skirmishes with the Alpha Diva German Shepherd who is in charge of the dog pack. She certainly could exist nicely with another dog, especially one who would be willing to defer to her lead. So far, she has been fine around cats. |
Pebbles is extremely friendly to people and genuinely loves human companionship. She bonds very quickly and would make an excellent companion dog. She loves travel and is an excellent car passenger. She has generally good house manners, but, apparently, her owner's personal problems prevented her from providing Pebbles with the much needed leadership and obedience training that she needs. Pebbles is eager to please and will get up to speed quickly in basic obedience. |

Pebbles is housetrained and crate trained, although adopters should expect an accident or two during the transition process. She is in excellent health, spayed, up to date on routine shots, and has been de-wormed. She is negative for heartworm/lyme/earlichia/anaplasmosis and is on appropriate preventatives. |
