NINAOur lovely Nina is an energetic young lady who craves the one to one companionship of permanent owner. She has bonded beautifully with her foster family, but it seems that Nina gets lost in the shuffle, pushed out of the way by other dogs with more Alpha temperments. Nina is an absolute lover, who gives hugs and kisses willingly...and profusely. She is one of the most affectionate dogs in our rescue! She came to us at only 8 months of age as a city stray, via an urban animal control facility. She was initially fearful in the shelter, but blossomed beautifully once she felt the gentle, patient human touch. |

Nina is a stunning beauty, sportin' an all over brindle coat. Shelter staff pegged her as a German Shepherd mix, and we see a healthy dose of beautiful brindle Boxer, with the unmistakable purple tongue of the noble Shar Pei. Nina is a youngster and may still grow a bit. She is at a good weight now of 36 pounds, and has a compact, strong, well muscled physique, and long tail that is permanently in happy wag mode. Nina's lovely facial features include an elongated black muzzle and shiney black button nose, and an ear to ear grin! |
Nina's adopters should prepare for puppy mode, as Nina is full of delightful puppy vim and vigor. It is clear that she has had no formal obedience work, and is somewhat short on manners when greeting strangers. Nina is extremely affectionate and fancies herself a lapdog. Adopters will want to master the obedience basics of , "off," "sit," and "stay" from the get go. Nina is so eager to please that her obedience work will be a cinch. | ![]() |

Nina would make a loving companion for the active single or couple who would enjoy a walking or running buddy. She would be a fantastic family dog, and ideal companion for older kids. She is a bit too strong for toddlers, and just might knock them down with puppy love. Nina loves people and does not play favorites. She tends to prefer the company of people to other dogs, but she certainly could join a dog savvy home with one or two well trained canine companions. We have not tested her with cats, but we do not get a predatory vibe. |
Nina is a high energy puppy, who does need a fair amount of exercise to flourish, and if left ignored and underexercised, Nina will become restless and bored. And, of course, this is the recipe for puppy mayhem. Nina is in excellent health and is housetrained and crate trained, although, adopters should forgive the occasional accident which may occur during her transition. She is spayed and vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper and bordatella and influenza. She has been de-wormed and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. If you are interested in Nina, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com for an adoption application or call Denise at 720-903-0636 for more information. |
