Our Magnificent Nani is a great beauty, who just lost her home. Nani's owners suffered some financial setbacks that left them unable to care for her, and so, they left her behind in NYCACC. Clearly the unfortunate change in circumstances has broken her heart. Nani seems shy at first, and she was woefully unprepared to handle such a dramatic lifestyle change. Just four years old, Nani begins the rescue process.

Nani had a very tough time in the chaotic shelter environment. Her stress level was through the roof, and she was unable to relax enough to impress Evaluators who were determining her fate. We invited Nani to our place in Connecticut, so that we could give her some space to decompress, and we could measure how quickly she would return to normal with patient, gentle handling.

We were thrilled when Nani came out of her shell. She has blossomed beautifully in foster care. She is beloved by everyone, and has won all of our hearts. Since she was a young pup, Nani had lived happily in a family home with teenagers, but we feel that young children may overwhelm her. We would love for Nani to enjoy an adult home with patient, experienced Rottie people, who will go slow with her as she adjusts to yet another dramatic change.

Nani is a magnificent purebred Rottweiler, with all the classic breed characteristics that Rottie folks admire. She appears slightly underweight at 75 pounds. She could easily reach 85 to 90 pounds through healthy diet and exercise. She has the quintessential Rottie chill vibe, and loves to settle down and relax with her family.

Nani could easily join a multi-dog home with one or two calm, well behaved dogs. She has also lived amicably with a resident cat. She has proven to be respectful toward other animals, and would gain much from canine or feline companionship.

Penny craves the human love and attention that the shelter process had denied her. She absolutely loves people, and melts right into the warmest of doggie hugs. She would love to keep quiet company with her adult adopters, napping quietly by the fire and sharing a brisk evening constitutional. Nani has a loving, gentle spirit that feeds on positive human interaction.

Nani is a sensitive, mild mannered girl who looks to her handler for direction. She is a fantastic candidate for obedience training, and already knows some commands. She's very eager to please and would be a standout in the Canine Good Citizen program. We encourage adopters to follow through with the CGC program and give Nani a life rich in diverse experiences.

Nani is in excellent health, and has been spayed. She has been vaccinated for Rabies and DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza and coronavirus). She has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia. She has been microchipped and dewormed.
