MR. HELMSLEYOur Mr. Helmsley is quite the loveable character. Four years old, this pint sized cutie was found as a big city stray and spent some time incarcerated at the City Pound before he was released to us so we could gleefully plan the rest of his life. Mr. H. has been an absolute joy to foster. While he had received excellent behavior evaluations at the shelter, even during his vet exams, Mr. H. has exceeded his reputation. This little doll has really tugged at our heartstrings. |
Mr. H. appears to be an interesting mix of Miniature Pinscher and Jack Russell Terrier, with sharply defined black and tan lines, and bright white speckled patches. Mr. H. has all of the charm and pep that lovers of both breeds relish, but not the unpredictible intensity that we sometimes see in these breeds when un-exercised or denied proper socialization. |
Mr. H. has a generally good temperment and would readily assimilate into any type of active home. He would be the ideal companion to an active single or couple, who enjoy a small canine companion. Only 10 pounds, Mr. H is a great apartment sized dog and also is small enough to travel in an airline approved Sherpa bag. He is well socialized and loves travel. |
Mr. H could easily join an active family with older kids, or a multi-dog or feline household. His confident, good nature suggests a good fit with other playful dogs and tolerant cats. Mr. H would love the attention of older kids, but toddlers might overwhelm him. Like most rescue dogs, Mr. H's obedience work has been neglected, but he has good house and leash manners, and is eager to please. He has mastered the heel and sit commands, and walks calmly on lead. Mr. H is housetrained and crate trained, but adopters will need to forgive the occasional faux pas that may occur as he adjusts to his new routine. |
Mr. H is in excellent health and is neutered. He is neutered and is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper and bordatella. He is microchipped and de-wormed, and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
