ADOPTED |
MAKOOur blustery Mako is a big beautiful fluffball, who is convinced that he is the Emperor of Everything. He came to us from a rural area, where some misquided and careless farmfolk are infusing the Great Pyrenees breed into the local canine population. Mako is a striking mix of Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever, and at 70 pounds, he is a one impressive dude! |
Mako is a large, strong dog, with a full, bushy, white coat, tinged with considerable biscuit coloring. This three year old has a youthful vigor and would do well in an active home with folks who enjoy an outdoors lifestyle. He is a high energy dog, who needs alot of vigorous exercise to work off his yayas. He loves the outdoors, particularly snow, and would be the ideal running, walking or hiking companion. If underexercised, Mako can become bored and frustrated, so this boy, is definitely not a candidate for a laid back lifestyle. |
Strong, Alpha leadership is the key to Mako. He needs an experienced adopter, who exudes confidence, and can command his respect. As a double dose of hardwired working breeds, Mako needs mental stimulation as well as physical activity. He seems to consider his training regimen to be his job, and takes pride in excellent performance. He is surprisingly easy to train, and since arriving in foster care, he has mastered all of his basic obedience commands. He works for both praise and treats, so adopters will be able to use basic commands to communicate instantly with Mako, and assert their pack leader status. Mako would be a great fit for folks who enjoy obedience work. Mako will astound them! |
As an Alpha dog, Mako would be best suited to an adult home, maybe with teenagers, who are all on the same page about maintaining his exercise and training regimen. Once he is settled into his pack dynamic, Mako is an exceptionally fun dog, full of love and life, poised to thrill and delight his family. Due to his size and strength, we feel he would overwhelm toddlers, older kids and cats, but he could coexist nicely with another dog after proper introduction. |
Mako is in excellent health and is neutered. He has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect the occasional accident as he transitions to a new home. Mako is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, adrenovirus, distemper, coronavirus, leptopirosis. He has been dewormed, and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
