MAGICOur handsome Magic is that exceptional, all around family dog, that is rare in rescue. Magic loves everybody, and has not flinched at all during a rescue process that leaves lesser dogs rattled. |
We've been trying to piece together Magic's backstory, and here's what we know for sure: Magic was found as a stray in Amelia County, Virginia. His shelter mugshot revealed a chilling “cold brand,” #20 scrawled across his side in red paint. His left ear is sporting a tattoo ID number. These are not signs of a good life. |
Magic’s bum luck finally improved when he was pulled by a Hound Sanctuary in North Carolina. Due to his stellar temperament and personality, Magic served as Helper Dog in rehabilitating many abused Hounds. |
Throughout the chaotic Rescue process, Magic has been an absolute charmer. He is so full of life and personality, and at five years old, he still has a bit of the puppy Mojo going on. Magic is like a kid in a candy shop, soaking up new experiences with sheer glee. He is a super dog that would do well in any type of environment. |
Magic appears to be an American Foxhound, and he lives up to their lovable reputation. He is a large dog, at a lean weight of 65 pounds. His short, flat tri-colored coat is largely black and tan, with white markings. Magic has a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, and he always looks like he's flashing a giant smile. |
Magic is a very happy-go-lucky guy, and would be a great addition to an active family with older, dog savvy kids. He is friendly and will gives everyone in the family equal attention. Magic is not one to play favorites, and he is very stranger friendly. He could also join an active single or couple, who can provide at least one to two leisurely leash walks, so that Magic can meander and stop to smell the "roses." Scent hounds are extremely easy to manage because the leisurely walk that engages their senses, provides much needed mental and physical exercise. |
Magic has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. |
