LOLA CHRISTINE

Darling Lola Christine is full of love and life. The sweet, lovable Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix has charmed her foster mom, and her two high energy canine housemates with her infectious joie de vivre.

Lola came to us from the city streets, where she spent some time as a stray, before doing time in the City Pound. At the shelter, volunteers were completely enamored with her bright, courageous personality. Lola is full of confidence, and is quite comfortable in her own skin. She earned herself the best behavior rating that could be had.

Lola has an unusual look. She appears to be part Boston Terrier. Her general body shape is lithe and muscular, but weighing only 15 pounds, Lola is much smaller in stature than breed standard for the Boston Terrier. We surmise that she has a healthy dose of Chihuahua in her, to scale her down to pint size. Lola's coloring is a reverse brindle, with a black base, marked with tan brindle stripes. She has a fair amount of white markings on her chest and feet. And, she is sportin' a pair of the most comical "rabbit" ears that just make us giggle!

Lola's temperament is as sweet as she is pretty. She loves absolutely everyone and will certainly provide her lucky adopter with a Disney moment ripe with cuddles and kisses right from the get go! Lola has blended beautifully into her high energy foster home, and just one year old, has held her own with a pair of adult dogs, who have shown her the ropes.

Lola would be a great addition to a multi-dog home. She gets along with every dog she meets, and loves to play. We have not had her around cats, but we have not observed any prey drive, and believe that she would play with, and perhaps chase, cats for fun, but without malice. Savvy dog/cat owners should easily be able to troubleshoot any dog/cat issues.

Lola loves people and always greets strangers affectionately. She would love the companionship of dog savvy kids, and would be the life of any party. She would make a great companion to the active single, couple or family with older kids, who enjoy including their dog in family activities. Lola loves the outdoors and travels beautifully in the car.

She is a medium energy dog, so a couple of leash walks per day will satisfy her exercise needs, but adopters should be prepared to troubleshoot the typical puppy issues. Lola is still a youngster, and will require basic obedience, leadership and leash work, but she is so happy-go-lucky and good natured that she will be a breeze to train. We recommend a full course of formal obedience training in order to bring Lola along the road to Canine Good Citizenship.

Lola has great house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should be prepared to forgive the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to her forever home. She is in excellent health, and is spayed. Also, Lola is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, and bordetalla, and is microchipped and de-wormed.
