LIMEYWell, our Chico came in as a Latino and is goin' out as Limey. Somehow his shelter name, Chico, just didn't fit him, and once we put the lime green harness vest on, he became Limey. Boy, does our imagination need some stimulation or what??? |
Limey is an athletic boy and quite the high jumper. He spends a good deal of time on two legs, dancing like a fool. He has an infectious, comical personality and will surely inspire a giggle or two. Limey has great doggie social skills, and tends to get along well with a wide variety breeds in all sizes. He has a fairly neutral temperament that would coexist well with cats, after the initial "chase the cat" game concludes. |
Limey would do well with an active single, couple, or family with older kids. He has a fairly delicate frame that would be at risk with raucous toddler play, but he clearly would enjoy the attentions of adults and older kids. He would make a good family dog, because he tends to work a room and not be stingy with his affections. Limey has had no formal obedience work but is extremely easy to handle. He walks beautifully on the leash, and has generally good house and stranger manners. We recommend a course of formal leadership and obedience work to facilitate the bonding process, and to clue Limey into to his adopter's expectations. We feel that he would relish the activity and attention. |
Limey is house trained and crate trained, although, savvy adopters will forgive him for an occasional "oops" in the spirit of rescue adaptation. He can become fussy in the crate if left alone too long, but otherwise is a dream of a dog with no obvious behavior issues. Limey is in excellent health and has been thoroughly vet examined. He has been neutered and is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper and bordatella. He has been microchipped and de-wormed, and has tested negative for heartworm/lyme/earlichia/anaplasmosis.
