ADOPTED |
KYANOur Kyan is a most unusual looking dog. He came to us billed as a Dachshund, but we just can't see it, despite what his shelter paperwork says. Doxie DNA is pretty distinctive, and we just can't spot any of it in Kyan's leggy, athletic stance. Determining a mixed breed dog's lineage is at an educated guess, and our guess is that he is a splendid concoction of Miniature Pinscher and Italian Greyhound. We see the IG characteristic long-legged athletic build, popular brindle coloring, ear shape and set. We also see Min Pin nuances in Kyan's face and straight spine. He has the unmistakable proud stance of the King of the Toys! |
Kyan came to us as a big city stray, after all attempts had been exhausted to find his owners and his shelter "hold" was off, . When no loving owner came to claim Kyan, he was released to us, so that we could find him a forever home. Kyan has been a joy to foster, and is a very friendly, outgoing boy. Only 6 months old, Kyan has some puppy energy, but is not as prone to mayhem as some. Kyan loves to play and would enjoy an active family, single or couple who are prepared for the rigors of training an older puppy. At 15 pounds, Kyan is a small dog, yet sturdy enough to stand up to raucous kid play. |
Kyan is an energetic boy who needs a good deal of exercise to get his ya yas out. He would make an excellent walking, running or hiking companion, and has a hearty enough constitution to enjoy outdoor activities like camping. Kyan loves the outdoors, but adopters absolutely will have to invest in a winter wardrobe!
|
Kyan has excellent house manners and is crate trained. Adopters should expect to fine tune the house training on a recently neutered youngster, but Kyan has demonstrated pretty good potty habits. Kyan is a blank slate for obedience work, and is the perfect age for puppy kindergarten. He is extremely food and treat motivated, and a natural for positive rewards obedience work and leadership training. He is a natural athelete and would excel at Agility Competition.

Kyan is in excellent health and is neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, bordatella and canine influenza. H has been microchipped and de-wormed and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
