JESSIEOur Jessie is a real lover. He is a happy-go-lucky guy with a goofy grin and a perpetual tail wag. Six years old, Jessie was found wandering the mean city streets and was scooped up by Animal Control officers and taken to the city pound. Jessie 's good nature earned him accolades from shelter workers and volunteers. We were delighted to invite him to our foster home for some well deserved TLC. |
Jessie appears to be a creative mix of Cardigan Welsh Corgi and Australian Kelpie. Well, its our best educated guess! He is a medium sized dog, weighing about 35 pounds, and has a compact short stature. Jessie is a sturdy, muscular dog, with short legs and a slightly elongated spine. We love his floppy ears and bushy natural tail. He has the lovable good looks that could cast him in a live action remake of Lady and the Tramp. |
Jessie is an extremely friendly, high energy dog, who enjoys human companionship. He would be a good choice for the active single, couple or family with older kids, who enjoy the company of a spirited canine companion. Jessie loves to be part of the action, and with a bit of structured obedience work, he can go anywhere. Jessie has not had much obedience work, and is a bit behind the learning curve for an adult dog. He would benefit from a formal, structured obedience course including both leadership and positive reninforcement techniques. Jessie is very food and praise motivated, and has readily grasped obedience basics in foster care. |
Jessie has good social skills and has blended in nicely with other dogs. He has a generally friendly demeanor in meeting strangers, and seems to like everyone. He has not been cat tested, but savvy dog/cat folks should be able to forge a stable family pack dynamic. Jesse has good house manners, and is somewhat crate trained, but he will get fussy if left crated too long. He really prefers to be with his family! He behaves well in the car, although could benefit from a safety harness to keep him rooted in his designated seat. |
Jessie is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper and bordatella and influenza. He has been dewormed and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
