ADOPTED

JERRY

Our handsome boy, Jerry, joined our rescue over the summer, after his underwhelming owner abandoned him in a high kill Animal Control facility, where he caught a nasty cold that greenlighted him to the euthanasia list. Just three years old, Jerry's ticket was punched!

Our first thought, when we saw Jerry's shelter mugshot, was that this boy was too pretty for his own good. Like most pretty boys, we thought he just had to have some kind of attitude problem! We were pleasantly surprised to see that Jerry is as beautiful inside as he is outside. This gentle soul almost defies the Min Pin logic of a scrappy (albeit magnificent) breed whose finely tuned hunting instincts mean big trouble for the vermin population.

Jerry is a good sized Miniature Pinscher, with a statuesque, leggy stance. At 17 pounds, he is a small dog, but gives the impression of a much larger one. Still, he can fulfill his Min Pin responsibility as lap dog, and bed snuggler. Jerry has a relatively calm demeanor, for this high energy breed, and would be a good choice for a first time Min Pin owner.

As a laid back, moderate energy dog, Jerry requires a couple of brisk leash walks daily, but settles down quickly to watch TV or nap by the fire. Jerry would be an ideal companion to a single or couple, and could adapt to apartment living, without rousting the neighbors with nusiance barking. He is sociable to other dogs, and could join a multi-dog or senior dog home, where the energy is low key. Jerry would compliment most dog, or possibly cat chemistries.

Jerry has great house manners and is house trained, and crate trained. Adopters should expect the occasional accident to occur as Jerry adjusts to his new routine. He is definitely going to need a thick, heavy-duty winter coat, if he is expected to traverse the elements this winter.

Jerry appears to be well cared for. His skin and coat are soft and lustrous, and his teeth and gums are in good shape for an adult dog. A consistent dental care plan will go a long way to avoid future dental cleanings and extractions. Jerry is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza and coronavirus). He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed.
