GUS

Gus came to us over a month ago as a very sad boy.  His owner had passed away, and her family was scrambling to sort out her affairs.  Gus was alone in the yard of his home for several months before he came to us for foster care.

At first, this darling boy sat by the back door shivering....but slowly, under the care of our New Jersey foster family, he has begun to blossom and is now showing that delightful Eskie spirit.  Gus has adapted beautifully to his foster family.  He is doing well with other dogs, kids and is generally outgoing and playful.  Gus is particularly fond of his 10 year old boy, James, who walks him effortlessly on leash.

Eight years old, Gus has been well cared for and is in excellent health.  He is a large, gentle standard Eskie, with long legs, and a sturdy, lean build. He weighs about 40 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on routine shots, and is heartworm negative.  He is on prevention for heartworm and fleas/ticks.

Gus is housetrained, although adopters should expect an occasional accident in any adoption transition.  He is a good candidate for first time dog owners or families, and is easy to handle and agreeable to strangers.
