GRETA

In June 2020, our Gorgeous Greta was found as a city stray in New York, and was transferred to the Brooklyn outpost of NYCACC. As time passed, Shelter staff ascertained that Greta was pregnant, and then her options for adoption fizzled. She sat in the shelter for almost 6 weeks during the summer of COVID, until we could transport her safely to our Connecticut Rescue.

The Rescue process is extremely upsetting to most dogs, and not the ideal scenario for whelping pups. Despite all the traumatic changes, Greta sailed through her intake process, making friends at every turn. Once she was released to us, she continued to show a delightful personality and balanced nature. She gave birth to 6 healthy puppies on July 27, 2020.

Greta was a first rate Mama, and now that she has fulfilled her responsibilities, she is ready to live her best life. Greta doesn't have the over-the-top energy that we see so often in other members of the Bully breeds. She has a relatively calm demeanor and is easy to handle on lead. She would be an excellent choice for a novice Bully owner.

Of course, Bullies are higher energy than most dog breeds, so even though Greta is calm for a Bully, she still needs sufficient exercise to be happy. She has a strong, yet nimble physique, but is slightly chunky at 65 pounds, and is working on a 10 pound weight loss. Her coat is short, manageable and easy to groom. Greta is mostly tan with a striking white tuxedo markings.

Greta loves the outdoors, and enjoys her walks even in the harsh weather. She would be an ideal walking companion, and would do well with one to two brisk leash walks each day, plus focussed playtime and obedience work. She has had a good deal of obedience training, and knows all her basic commands. She has begun her Canine Good Citizen program and impresses us every day. Adopters should continue her program, and develop her full potential. Bullies as loving as a Greta should be the Breed Ambassadors.

Greta could join just about any kind of active home. She is generally well behaved, and friendly to all. Although she is fairly easy to handle, she may overwhelm toddlers, but she'd be fine with older children and other well behaved dogs. We have not tested her with cats.

Greta has excellent house manners, and at the age of three, is well past the puppy mayhem stage. She is house trained and crate trained, although adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that may occur as she adjusts to a new routine. Greta is a calm car passenger, and behaves well in public.

Greta has been spayed and vaccinated for routine shots. She has had a negative 4snap test, and has been microchipped and dewormed. If you are interested in Greta, please write to Denise at Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.
