CUPIDWe are shaking our heads over the Cupid Situation. She first caught our collective eye through a Facebook post, by one of our New Jersey shelter partners, when she was brought into the town shelter as a stray. Immediately she was in limbo, while the shelter tried to track down her original owner. No one came to claim Cupid, and by that time she had wowed shelter staff with her wily charm. |
As Northern breed enthusiasts, we were thrilled to welcome Cupid to our Rescue. As we are fond of saying, Huskies are not for everybody. They are bewitchingly beautiful, but require serious dog "chops" and capacity to provide a considerable amount of exercise. |

Cupid is a stunning black and white Siberian Husky, with ice blue eyes. She is a tall, graceful girl, slightly underweight at 42 pounds. She has that lanky look of an older puppy on the verge of blossoming into a magnificent adult Husky. Cupid's short, flat coat may thicken as she morphs into adulthood. She is a shedder, who needs regular brushing, and perhaps professional grooming a few times a year. |
Cupid has the ideal temperament, that seasoned Husky lovers relish. She is not at all aloof, but enters the room with a bang and laps up lovin' wherever she can get it. One year old, Cupid has loads of puppy Mojo, and and seems to face the world with utter joy. She would be a fantastic companion to an active single or couple, who can provide a good amount of exercise and leadership. She is friendly to all and easy to handle. She would excel in an only dog home, or she could join a multi-dog home, with other well mannered dogs, who have a structured pecking order. | ![]() |
Cupid is extremely smart, and has shown promise in obedience training. Unlike some Huskies who remain aloof and independent, and even a little stubborn, Cupid consistently shows willingness to perform for both food and praise. She has mastered her sit-stay and down-stay, and but still needs a little work on performing with distractions. Cupid has the potential to go all the way to Canine Good Citizenship, and will surely pass the test with flying colors. Adopters should continue her on this route, to realize her great potential. |
Cupid is in excellent health, and has been spayed, and is up to date on routine shots and has tested negative for heartworm and tick borne disease. If you are interested in Cupid, please call or text Denise at 860-908-9738 or email Denise@eskiesonline.com for an adoption application. |
