COYOTE

Our lovely Coyote is a beautiful, sweet ingenue, who presents herself with a seductive shyness, that evaporates into a joyous, wigglebutt tailspin once her Inner Puppy takes over. She has started her rescue journey, just one year old, as a city stray who was invited to take up residence in a high kill city shelter.

Coyote has a unique look that suggests a mix of Gun dog breeds. We see the obvious tri coloring of an American Foxhound, but also the physique, head shape and stance of a Golden Retriever. Coyote is a petite girl, weighing 34 pounds, and may gain another two or three as she matures into her ideal weight. Her coat has a thick, plush texture, and she has the soft mouth that Gun Dogs are famous for.

As a double dose of Gun Dog, Coyote needs an active lifestyle that includes some outdoor exercise and mental stimulation. As a puppy who has found herself in the chaotic rescue process, Coyote is unsure of herself and of her place in the world. A consistent exercise and obedience training program is the best strategy to meet Coyote's needs.

Coyote is a mild mannered girl, who needs a strong pack leader to look up to, and help build her confidence. She could easily join the active lifestyle of a single or a couple who enjoy the outdoors and would like a running or hiking companion. She could also join the active home of a family with older kids, who are all on the same page about the importance of her obedience training.

Coyote loves other dogs and would be a good fit in a multi-dog home. Her personality is on the submissive side, and she would readily take her cues from older, well behaved dogs. Coyote is such a sweetheart, without any predatory tendencies, that we believe she would be a good choice for a feline household as well.
