BOY GEORGE (aka: BeeGee)

By George! We are pleased to introduce Boy George, an extremely rare albino long haired miniature Dachshund. When we first met Boy George, we thought we'd seen a ghost! In fact, we were sorely temped to christen him with the cliche moniker "Casper," but fortunately he came to us with an equally tongue in cheek name!

And so, we've nicknamed this cutie BeeGee, so we don't confuse our Min Pin, George. BeeGee comes to us from a bustling animal control facility where he made a spectacular impression. All the shelter workers and volunteers were vying for the chance to spend time with him, and he aced all of his medical and behavioral exams.

Beegee has so many interesting characteristics. He has the coat and physique of a mini long haired Dachshund, including the wavy coat texture, elongated spine and paddle feet. Weighing only 9 pounds, he is extremely petite and has adorable floppy ears.

BeeGee is a true albino, and has no pigment in his nose or eyes. His fur is snow white, and his nose and eye rims are pale pink. In daylight, his eyes seem a pale green, but if you catch him in the right light, his eyes flash red. Truly, he is a striking beauty! Adopters will need to take some caution during extremely harsh sunlight, because as an albino, BeeGee has some sun sensitivity. He is not the kind of dog who can sunbathe at he beach all day.

BeeGee's personality is amazing. One year old, he is an energetic pup who loves all people and other dogs. He would be a super family dog for active families with older kids. BeeGee will spread the love and not attach himself to one person and snub the rest.

If given proper exercise, including a couple of brisk leash walks each day, along with focussed playtime for mental stimulation, BeeGee will flourish nicely. He has had no formal obedience work, but is extremely eager to please. He would excel in a diverse training/play regimen that includes positive rewards and leadership work. BeeGee would thrive in a multi0-dog home with young, active playmates. He has not been tested with cats, but does not exhibit much of a predatory nature, and at 9 pounds, surely would not pose much of a challenge for the wiley feline.

BeeGee has great house manners. He is nicely crate trained and housetrained, but adopters should be prepared to forgive the initial accidents of a recently neutered dog during his adjustment period. BeeGee is in excellent health. He is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper and bordatella, and is microchipped and de-wormed. He has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. If you are interested in BeeGee, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com for an adoption application or call Denise at 720 903 0636 for more info.
