Our striking elder statesman, Andy, reminds us of the vintage comic, Hobo Red Skelton: kind of a scrapper, always angling for a good meal. Andy was found free-loading some lunch, and was interrupted by well-meaning Animal Control offers who carted him off to the clink. We were so moved by his happy, unsuspecting expression, that we snapped him up right away. We love the bum luck dogs.

At the age of ten, Andy may have a few miles on him, but he still has a lot of love to give and a lot to offer a new family. He's a very active Chocolate Beagle, who has a flambouyant vibe, a perky sense of humor, as well as a highly refined food fetish. Andy always wants to know where his next meal is coming from. He is a medium sized dog, just under 40 pounds, and at a lean body weight. The risk of overfeeding Andy out of love is great. He is the consummate beggar, so adopters will have to exercise restraint and maintain a healthy body weight in order to ensure longevity.

Andy would love to spend his golden years in the company of an active single or couple who can indulge his desire for leisurely sniff strolls. He's a typical Beagle, and very easy to entertain with leisurely walks. He revels in all scents of nature. He has a moderate activity level, and is always up for an adventure, but then happy to nap afterwards. Andy has great house manners, and is house trained and crate trained, although adopters should expect to troubleshoot a transitional accident or two until Andy learns the new house rules.

Andy is in excellent health, and has been neutered. He has had full senior bloodwork. He is vaccinated for rabies, parvo, adrenovirus, distemper, coronavirus, leptopirosis, canine influenza, and bordatella. He has been dewormed, and has tested negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis.
