ADOPTED

ALADDIN

We hope somebody steps up to adopt Aladdin before we highjack him for ourselves!  Our dapper little dude is a pistol. This handsome 12 pound Chihuahua was found navigating the city streets in search of his next meal. An Animal Control Officer spirited him off to the NYC ACC Brooklyn shelter, where he took up residence until we found out about his dire circumstances.

Stray dogs are put on a two week "hold," that serves as a "stay of execution", to give their owners time to track them down. Unfortunately, during that time, most dogs catch the shelter kennel cough virus, and by the time their "hold" is up, they may have become sick and unadoptable.  Aladdin's bum luck in catching the obligatory bug, brought him onto our radar, so we invited the little guy to the country.  After a course of antibiotics, he was as good as new.

When we first met Aladdin, he wasn't feeling very well and seemed a little out of sorts.  As he healed, his personality popped like a diminutive firecracker.  Aladdin is a confident little boy, and has navigated the canine politics in his foster home with ease.  He has bonded with his new Chihuahua and Min Pin housemates, and could easily join a multi-small-dog or feline household, with proper introduction.

Aladdin is an adult dog, who is well past the chaotic puppy years.  He is ready to join the home of moderately active adults, who will provide the leadership and mental stimulation that he needs. He strikes us as a very outgoing little boy. He loves to be with his people, but could also do well home alone during the work day.  Aladdin loves to be part of the action, and travels beautifully. He is the kind of dog that you can cart around anywhere.  He can be suspicious of some strangers, but adapts nicely to change once he trusts his pack leader.

Aladdin has good house manners and is house and paper trained, although adopters should be prepared to troubleshoot the occasional accident that may occur during his transition to a new routine. Aladdin is in excellent health, and has been recently neutered. He has been vaccinated for rabies and DA2PP (distemper, adrenovirus, parvo and parainfluenza), and Canine Influenza. He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed. Eskies Online is a 501(c)(3) Multibreed rescue group that serves unwanted American Eskimos and other dogs in need. Our group of volunteer foster homes spans the North East, and our adoption territory extends from Maine to eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and parts of northern Maryland.
