ADOPTED

TORO

We hope somebody steps up to adopt Toro before we highjack him for ourselves! Our dapper little dude is a pistol. This handsome pipsqueak was found as a city stray, in Brooklyn, New York, and was brought to NYC ACC, by a good samaritan, so that owners could be located. Nobody came to claim Toro, and he faced an uncertain future because older dogs are the most at risk for euthanasia.

When we first met Toro, he wasn't feeling very well and seemed a little out of sorts. As he healed, his personality popped like a diminutive firecracker. Toto is a confident little boy, and has navigated the canine politics in his foster home with ease. He has bonded with his new Chihuahua and Min Pin housemates, and could easily join a multi small dog or feline household, with proper introduction.

Toro is an adult dog, who is well past the chaotic puppy years. Sadly, folks often overlook older dogs, and they have so much still to offer. Toro would be a great addition to the home of moderately active adults, who will provide the leadership and mental stimulation that he needs. He strikes us as a very outgoing little boy. He loves to be with his people, but could also do well home alone during the work day. Toro loves to be part of the action, and travels beautifully. At just 6 pounds, he is the kind of dog that you can cart around anywhere. He can be suspicious of some strangers, but adapts nicely to change once he trusts his pack leader.

Toro has good house manners and is house and paper trained, although adopters should be prepared to troubleshoot the occasional accident that may occur during his transition to a new routine. Toro is in excellent health, and has been recently neutered, and has had a full dental procedure done, as well as preoperative blood work, which was all within normal range. Adopters can use this as a baseline value going forward. He has been vaccinated for Rabies and DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza, and corona virus). He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed. Eskies Online is a 501(c)(3) Multibreed rescue group that serves unwanted American Eskimos and other dogs in need. Our group of volunteer foster homes spans the North East, and our adoption territory extends from Maine to eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and parts of northern Maryland. Once an adopter is approved, we arrange transportation. We do not adopt dogs beyond our territory.
