Thanks to Heart Bandits friend, Dotti Emadi, Alonzo made his way from South Carolina to Samantha Chan's eskie spa in upstate New York. Alonzo was in a real pickle with no place to go, so Sam and Dotti put their heads together and arranged to fly him to New York. Dotti very generously donated funds to cover Alonzo's plane trip, and Sam offered him home, hearth and steamed chicken.
Soon after Alonzo arrived, we were contacted by Lee Middleton of Manhattan, who was anxious to adopt an eskie and offer him the wonders of life in the Big Apple. Sam and Lee met, and Alonzo adopted Lee on the spot. What a wonderful match, and now, our Alonzo is a NEW YORKER!
Here is Lee's first report ---
Just a short note to let you know Alonzo is doing very well... loves his new surroundings... especially Central Park and long walks there... and has a lot of new buddies at the dog run... great in the elevator and with kids in the bldng... very gentle... his coat is growing (colder weather? shorter days?)... i think he's the most popular dog on West 72nd St!
Alonzo is incredibly well behaved... perfect apt. /big city dog... though incredibly shy first few days... (altering, a plane trip and a new home -- all in a few days -- I'd be shy too!)... completely housebroken... doesn't bark, though some whimpering when i leave the apt... (is this a problem? i think i'd like to hear him bark just a little bit)...
Since my employer had to relocate my office (we were at WTC), i was able to spend first week with him full time while i 'home officed' so we bonded well... but he also seems perfectly o.k. now that i'm away 8 hrs... content to lie on bed with chew toy...
so, a great success... and a big thank you and your group for getting us together...
